1.   READ the instructions on this page!

2.   Go to  ---->    https://sites.google.com/

3.  Make a choose-your-own-adventure style website game. 

    Click on the plus button in the bottom right to make a site.

     MAKE IT SCHOOL APPROPRIATE!

Click on "Header Type"

Then change the header type to "Cover"

​

Write an introduction to set the scene of your story. 

The intro should be AT LEAST 4 sentences long.

To improve readability of your story, click the "Insert" tab and click "text box"  

​

​

To make the background of the text dark, click "Themes"

Then change the simple theme color to dark.

​

HOW TO ADD BACKGROUND PICTURES

Click Image in the bottom left, then you can upload a picture, or click "Select" and search for a picture directly within google sites.

I recommend generating your pictures with a web based ai art generator

HOW TO HYPERLINK A CHOICE

At the end of your introduction slide (or slides) have two choices for the reader.  For example:  "You can run away or...  fight back"

Then click "Pages",

​

Then click the plus button to make a new page for each choice.

Make sure to title the new pages what your choices are (like "fight back")

​

Next, highlight each of your choices like this            "You can run away or...  fight back"

then click the "Link" icon and link the specific choice to the new page you made for it.

You can also use buttons to link to your different page choices.  

Click the "Insert" tab, then find "Button"

HOW TO ORGANIZE YOUR STORY BRANCHES

Keep track of which pages branch off of other pages by clicking the "Pages" tab.

​

Then you can drag and drop different pages onto the pages they branch from, allowing you organize different storylines together.

​

4. Publish your website when you are all done.

​

5. Click the triangle next to publish, then click "view published site"  then copy the web address to your story and send it to me on Canvas!
